On en parle beaucoup, mais jusqu'à maintenant il n'était pas réellement quantifié, et restait assez flou. L'effet digg provient de l'afflux massif de visiteurs sur un site web qui est passé sur la Page principale de Digg.Un homme éclairé, armé de son Pentium 350 et de 192 Mo de Ram, a donc eu l'idée d'effectuer cette fameuse mesure en proposant son site à la machine Digg.
Une dizaine d'heure après la soumission le site était accepté, et lors de la première heure en page principale de digg le site a recu 1400 visiteurs. Au bout de 14 heures le compteur était à environ 8000 visiteurs.
Ces chiffres me semblent très faible, pour un site ayant maintenant plus d'un million de visiteurs par jour. On tourne a une page toute les 6 s et a environ 570 pages par heure (ce que fait ce blog en une journée) .Environ 1 % seulement de ses visiteurs serait donc suceptible d'aller effectivement sur un site en HomePage. Voila qui fait légèrement vaciller le mythe, de Digg capable d'influencer la valeur boursière de certaines sociétés.
